Mr. Prospector Bloodlines!
RRP 2022 Eligible
Alfie is a wonderful all around boy and we would love to see him go to the makeover this year!
Alfie came off the track in 2020 and was purchased by a lovely local lady.
She sadly had to part with him and I purchased him to be my 2022 makeover mount.
He sat in our pasture until December 2021 when I was allowed to start riding him to maintain his RRP eligibility
Unfortunately, we are now moving in August and I sadly don't think we will be able to make the RRP Makeover 2 months later.
We have decided to rehome him and would absolutely love if he did end up going to the makeover with a special trainer.
He is an absolute saint to work with and would excel in liberty, western dressage, fox hunting, or the trail disciplines.
He is naturally collected when you ride and is built like a Quarter Horse.
He can be ridden bitless, bareback, western, English, whichever and whatever way you prefer.
Responds super well to positive reinforcements and while not super treat motivated he love liberty work.
He has already learned how to "Pick me up" at the mounting block and stands patiently while you get on.
Loads and trailers perfectly and has been foxhunting and did fantastic. Stood tied to the trailer before and after.
While fox hunting he was forward in the beginning when the whole herd headed out, but settled right down.
Jumped over small logs, went down huge muddy banks, across deep water, stood when asked, and did amazing with the hounds.
This was all on his 3rd ride since retiring from the track and was ridden in a basic snaffle.
He seemed to really enjoy it and would make a great 2nd and 3rd Field fox hunter.
He is the same horse no matter what day you ride and no need to lunge him before. Just hop on and go!
He can be ridden bareback and in a halter and is a very good boy. He is also great around traffic.
He retired from the track sound and his only "imperfection" are osselets..
These "large ankles" are cold and hard, and will not effect his soundness, but do slightly limit his range of motion in the fetlock joint.
He is currently barefoot and shows no signs of needing shoes and stands well for the farrier.
He does slightly crib if kept in a stall, so we recommend pasture board or he wear a collar while stalled.
He is not on any supplements or maintenance
Has never reared, bucked, kicked, bitten, bolted, or even threatened to
He currently lives in a pasture with geldings, mares, and ponies and is the middle of the pack.
Alfie is a lovely boy that is dependable and sweet.
He would be a wonderful new family member to someone lucky!
Rehoming Fee: $5,000
