Boopers
2 years and 4 months old
Draft Cross Gelding
Currently measures 14.3hh Should finish out to be 15.2hh
Boopers is such a love bug!
He was an owner surrender who originally wound up with a herd at the Stroud Oklahoma Kill pen.
From there he was purchased by a family who also took a filly and then they sold him to a friend of the rescue's.
The friend didn't bond well with Boopers at the time but did with the filly so we took on Boopers.
Originally he wasn't halter broke and and he had to live in the round-pen for a month before we could touch him.
He got his name as he would always like to sniff or "boop" your hand before letting you move further with petting.
He has been through extensive groundwork training and joins up and does liberty work well.
He will go over trot poles and has worn a saddle pad and bareback pad with cinch.
He has a clam and quiet demeanor and is not spooky.
He acts like a true draft cross but has more of the draft side of the brain when working.
He has had his feet trimmed three times with the farrier and has a good solid foot to him.
He has never tried to do anything remotely mean and is a very sweet soul.
He needs someone who is going to finish out his training but give him the space he needs to flourish.
He has been on 6 trailer rides and loads up with ease.
We think with his conformation he would excel as a rope horse, pickup horse, English hunter/Jumper, Fox Hunter, pleasure horse.
He can be kept in a stall or out with other geldings and mares and gets along with everyone.
He's not the bottom of the pack but is not aggressive in any way so is more of the middle.
He's a very easy keeper and just gets grass hay in a slow feed hay net and that is all.
We had him gelded in February of 2024 and he did really well with the surgery and recovery.
He is a afraid of needles so we give him dormosedan gel to calm him for any procedure requiring needles.
He is a good boy to de-worm and no history of lameness/founder or any health related issues.
He is up to date on their vaccines, worming, and farrier care.
He has fantastic conformation and we feel anyone would be lucky to have Boopers in their life!
Adoption fee: $1,500
