Louisiana Bred Gelding
Gone West and Deputy Minister Bloodlines!
Corey is such a sweet soul of a horse!
He is a kind gentle spirit who loves affection and attention from people.
He had a very lack luster racing career with only 3 starts and didn't place in any of the races.
Luckily this lanky legged guy was retired and later wound up in a barrel racing barn.
Barrel life is not the life for him though as he's pretty slow and more whoa than go mindset.
We think he would make a great pleasure horse, Hunter, or trail horse prospect.
He needs someone who is calm and confident as he is currently learning to be brave in the arena and get over buddy/gate sourness.
Like a typical Thoroughbred though he is incredibly smart and is getting better each time!
He loves liberty work and connects up easily and willingly. He turns in to face you and can easily be ridden bitless.
He is not a mean horse at all and is easy to handle on the ground for grooming and tacking.
He does best in at least daily turn out as he loves to play with other horses.
He would be suitable for an rider working with a trainer or a more experianced rider who can bring her along themselves.
He responds well to gentle pressure and encouragement.
We put him over some cross rails loose and he did well hopping over those and shows potential to be a hunter.
Can be ridden English or Western and in a basic snaffle, but He has a very gentle mouth and doesn't require any pressure.
He is just oozing with potential to be a sport horse, hunter/jumper, pleasure horse, you name it!
He currently goes in a stall during the day and has no stable vices and out at night with 2 other geldings.
He is lower in the pecking order but can be housed with mares and geldings.
He stands well for the farrier and currently wears front shoes.
He is up to date on her vaccines, coggins, worming, floating, and farrier care.
He came in underweight so is getting unlimited alfalfa/orchard grass hay miss in slow feed hay nets.
He also gets 8lbs of Purina Impact 12% Textured grain with a cup of Canola oil and a Pro Bios supplement per day.
He has a himalayan salt lick in his stall also.
He has been gaining well on this and we believe his adopter could taper the grain off over time.
We feel someone will be really lucky to have this gelding in their life for many years to come and he will love being your best friend!
Adoption Fee: $1,500
