Dakota is such a gorgeous big stout girl who just loves to take is slow and easy!
Dakota is looking for a family that wants to have a pleasure riding horse that does really well with positive reinforcement.
We know quite a lot about Dakota's history and she does best as a trail riding horse and is a very easy keeper.
She is a rock-solid mare on the trail who you can point and go anywhere and she will take you there.
Through water, over bridges, through open fields she loves it.
She does not have a spooky bone in her body and at most just looks at things when she passes them.
She does best with more consistent rides if ridden in an arena as she can tend to get lazy and a gate sour.
She prefers the slower pace in life and is more whoa than go, but will go all day long on the trail.
She travels and loads in the trailer well and does great with friends on trail rides, like most.
She is built like a brick house so anyone could ride her big or small.
She stands well to be mounted, is safe around cars, loud noises, and dogs.
She needs a little work with sprays and bathing as she gets a little nervous when you first start spraying her but settles quickly.
She is good for the farrier and is not on any supplements or medication
She has no known history of injury or lameness
She can be ridden Western or English and goes well in a basic snaffle or a bitless bridle
She does fantastic with positive reinforcement as she's been forced to work a lot of her life and prefers someone who will gently encourage her.
Small rewards and progress are better with her than making her do something as she will tend to shut down if forced.
She currently lives out on pasture with geldings, mares, and ponies 24/7 and is relatively easy to catch if you use a treat.
She is an easy keeper and maintains a great weight on just a forage-based diet.
She is up to date on wormer, Coggins, teeth floating, vaccinations, and farrier.
If you are looking for a super comfy couch sized mount to mosey on down the trails, Dakota is your gal!
She is looking for that special person to enjoy the outdoors with and she in turn will be that steady mount you can trust and rely on.
Rehoming fee: $3,000
*Dakota is here on Consignment and will come with a Bill of Sale"
