Duke
7 Yrs Old
14.2hh
Draft Cross Gelding
Have you ever seen such a unique little gelding?
This chunky boy has a Wry/Roman nose and one partial blue eye.
He was unfortunately another auction pipeline rescue.
He had been carted from auction to auction and we know he had been to two in the previous 2 months.
He has an old injury to his right front and X-rays taken in Sept 2021 will be provided to his new family.
He would do best in a non-jumping home because of this.
He would make a fantastic trail horse, pleasure horse, or fox hunting mount.
He is more whoa than go and was previously ridden by a boy in 4H who roped off of him.
He is not spooky at all and is sturdy and has sure-footed strides
He stands tied and does not pull back
He weighs 850 lbs so can comfortably carry someone up to 170 lbs.
He is good for grooming, the farrier, bathing, tacking, and floating
He is afraid of needles and does best if a twitch is used when vaccinating.
He is up to date on wormer, Coggins, vaccinations, and farrier.
He currently lives outside 24/7 and is in the middle of the herd with geldings and mares
He also does well in a stall if needing to be stabled
He trailers and loads perfectly and is not herd bound at all.
He does not need grain and does best on a forage based diet.
We hope this sweet boy can find a family that loves him and we are so glad we were able to rescue him from the auction pipeline!
Rehoming fee: $2,500
Backed by Rowley Ranch's reputation of honesty and transparency.
Safety and suitability are of the utmost importance in placing these horses.
