Quarter Horse Mare
Goldie was another sweet auction save who had spent her days being a kids play day horse only to be discarded.
Don't let her age fool you, this mare still has a lot of go and often likes to trot from the pasture to her stall at snack time!
She stands very well and lets you groom, brush her without moving and is kid friendly on the ground.
Great around dogs and small children, she hasn't ever done anything remotely naughty.
She loads in the trailer perfectly and stand tied patiently and does not pull back.
She has had a traumatic founder in her right front hoof and we have had x-rays completed at our veterinarian.
She will require natural balance shoes on her fronts to remain comfortable.
She also does better on soft ground like in an arena or grass pasture.
If wanting to do more trail riding we would recommend a pad or boots in addition to the shoes.
We also have her on a supplement to help with any discomfort and she has remained sound with this protocol.
Does well out in the pasture with geldings and mares 24/7 or can be stalled and does not have any vices.
She is Advanced beginner friendly as she is quite forward and likes to go so she needs someone who understand leg control.
If you tell her to go she will go so we wouldn't say she's brand new beginner or young child suitable, but a young rider who wants to have fun at play days.. she’s your mare!
She can be ridden English, Western, would make a great trail horse, and previously was a play day pony.
She one hand neck reins and can also direct rein, but prefers to neck rein.
She goes comfortably in a simple snaffle.
She is not mareish at all and comes up to you first in the pasture.
She is the same horse no matter which day you pull her out or how long you have left her in the field.
She is up to date on de-worming, coggins, teeth floating, vaccinations, and farrier care.
She is ready to go to her new home and be loved on for the rest of her days!
