Indiana Bred OTTB Mare
Gone West and Honour and Glory Bloodlines!
Honey is a darling mare who has a refined frame and gentle presence
She always comes up to you in the field and wants to be chosen
She retired from racing with no known injuries or lameness.
She is out on pasture currently 24/7 with mares, geldings, and mini horses
She is in the middle of the pack and makes sure to get her grain
She is a lovely mover and could go in many directions
We think Honey would make a fantastic Retired Racehorse Project Makeover Mount, especially as a hunter, pleasure horse, Fox hunter, you name it.
To ride she is soft in the mouth and responsive to leg aids.
She is not spooky at all and hasn’t once tried to do anything remotely mean or naughty.
She goes in a basic snaffle and is already going over trot poles on her second ride after leaving the track.
Due to her still being in the restarting process, we recommend her for an intermediate and above rider, or someone working with a trainer.
She loves to be around people and is kind to dogs.
She stands great for the farrier and has nice barefoot hooves.
She ties well and is good for grooming, spraying, and gentle on the lunge line.
Her one vice is she is a mild cribber, but is well controlled by a collar.
Up to date on vaccinations, farrier, wormer, and Coggins.
She is not on any supplements or medication.
RRP 2022 Eligible
She has a fantastic temperament for her age and with a little training she will make a lovely horse for a special family.
