FOALED MARCH 2, 2014
Kentucky Bred Thoroughbred Mare
Bodemeister and AP Indy Bloodlines!
Indy is a mare with unlimited potential and she is a pure blank slate.
She was sold as a 2 year old at the Ocala Breeder's Sale for $17,000
She had a brief racing career and retired sound and unfortunately ended up at an auction and then a kill pen in Virginia.
Thankfully her wonderful breeders stepped in and were able to pull her from the kill pen and bring her home to safety.
Her breeders care a great deal about her and have entrusted Rowley Rescue Ranch to find Indy her perfect forever home.
She is a bigger barreled mare who looks more like a warmblood
She is very easy keeper on a forage only diet and barefoot.
She floats around naturally with along and low headset and would make a fantastic hunter/jumper.
She has been on 24hr turnout in a pasture and she is as low maintenance as a horse comes.
She is currently on half a day turnout and half a day in a stall and she has no vices and does well with both setups.
Under saddle she is a green bean but has good steering and is calm and patient.
She isn't a kick ride but she also isn't the fastest TB we have had. She goes off of gentle pressure and really likes trotting.
She is currently in our professional training program to work on learning to relax and give downwards.
She is very sweet to groom, tack, lead, and ride.
She can get a little territorial over her hay bag and has threatened, but once reprimanded she calms down.
We think she would excel in, the hunter/jumper world, western disciplines due to her build and would also be great at trails.
She loaded perfectly when she was brought to us and traveled well. She isn't a nervous horse and adjusts well to new locations.
She isn't herd bound at all and she love people and face rubs.
Can be ridden English or Western and in a basic snaffle.
She is just oozing with potential to be a western sport horse, pleasure horse, trail horse, hunter/jumper, you name it!
She is currently barefoot but does get a little tender footed in front after a fresh trim so we would recommend Cavallo hoof boots of her till she grows a bit more some or front shoes.
She is up to date on her vaccines, coggins, worming, floating, and farrier care.
She is not on any supplements or maintenance.
We feel someone will be really lucky to have this girl in their life for many years to come!
Adoption fee: $3,500
*Indy does come with a special contract that ensures that her breeders will always take her back if she ever needs a home*
