Nico is a gorgeous big boy!
He has a lovely conformation and beautiful coloring
He had a pretty lackluster career on the track, only racing 4 times and retired sound and injury free.
Racing just wasn't the career for him, but we are glad about that as we think he will make a fantastic Sport Horse Prospect
He is still quite a green bean under saddle and needs a rider who is experienced in the OTTB retraining process
He would also do well with someone working very closely with a trainer to re-start him.
He stands very nicely to be groomed, tacked, and bathed
He is a little skittish about our dogs but is getting better about them each day.
He needs a quiet. confidant rider in the arena and he responds well to gentle encouragement.
He does great on the lunge line and has been worked in a basic snaffle.
He has a more sensitive personality, but is quick to learn and always wants to please
He hasn't shown any signs of bucking, rearing, bolting, kicking, etc.
He needs someone who will build his confidence and we think he could go very far in the right hands.
He improves every time we work with him and has a very solid, kind brain and temperament.
Goes over trot poles no problem and stands well to be mounted at the mounting block.
Given training we think he could be a fantastic Dressage horse with his natural headset, hunter, jumper, eventing, you name it!
He is currently out in the pasture 24/7 with geldings and mares and is about the middle of the pack
He will have been kept in a stall at the track for most of his life and he acclimated to pasture life right away.
He trailered very well and loaded up right away for us.
He is doing well barefoot, but could use front shoes on harder ground
He is up to date on wormer, coggins, vaccinations, and farrier.
He has no known history of injury, lameness, or medical issues.
He is not on any supplements or maintenance.
He is currently available to an experienced individual looking for a fantastic prospect.
