Ollie
15 Yrs Old

Belgian Draft Gelding
Ollie is the epitome of a Gentle Giant and the sweetest big boy!
Ollie is one of those lucky Belgians who was not used as a work horse.
Ollie was owned from ages 2-13 years old by a man who used to single drive him on an Old Time Wagon in AR.
From 13-15 years old he was owned by a lovely family as a pleasure horse.
He is moves beautifully and has no history of lameness or any health issues.
He prefers to be out in the field or pasture board and gets along well with other horses.
He loaded perfectly in the trailer, ties, and stands and waits patiently for grooming and brushing.
He is continuing his training with hoof handling and we are practicing every day with treat training.
We can educate his adopter on how to care for his hooves themselves or would suggest a farrier that has stocks as that is what he is used to.
He does well on 17 lbs of grass hay and 5 lbs of alfalfa pellets
He has clean legs and requires no supplements or maintenance.
He lunges well and has a soft mouth under saddle.
He loves treats and did well at liberty when we introduced the treat training aspect.
He lowers his head nicely to have the halter or bridle put on and is a gentleman about it.
He stands well to be mounted from a block or a leg up.
He is not afraid of sprays and baths and stands well for those also.
He is great around kids and dogs and isn't phased by them at all. He has been around sheep, dogs, and lived with alpacas before.
Can be ridden bareback, English or Western and we would recommend a treeless saddle for his size.
We rode him in a basic snaffle and he was very responsive but has been ridden bareback and in a halter bridle by is last family as well.
He does best when he can be ridden with other horses and would love to go out on trails with a buddy.
He gains confidence from his rider and handler so someone who is calm and confident would be best for this. big fella.
He would make a fantastic trail horse (with a buddy), pleasure horse, and loves driving.
He has even been used for Skijoring!
He is up to date on wormer, coggins, vaccinations, and barefoot trims.
Ollie is ready to find his forever family today!
