Opie is such a beautiful gelding and wants to be your next trail horse!
Opie came to us when he was surrendered by a family that didn't know a lot about his history.
He arrived quite shut down and calm but not understanding human kindness.
As time has gone by he has started to come out of his shell more and more.
He loves to be groomed and stands patiently to be petted and tacked.
He was a little herd bound and we have been working on fixing this.
He moves well for his age and appears to be gaited.
He loaded in the trailer well and took a minute to understand backing out of a straight load, but did just fine.
He was underweight when he arrived but is gaining on a forage based diet with lots of alfalfa.
He has had his feet trimmed and can always be barefoot.
He is up to date on his coggins and was de-wormed and vaccinated.
He stood well for all of these treatments and the farrier.
He does lunge but doesn't completely understand the concepts just yet.
We think he would make a fantastic trail riding horse with his smooth gate and easy going demeanor.
He is not spooky and anyone could ride him!
He is a kick ride who will just stop if you loose your balance.
He does move out at a nice pace when asked though.
He is not the best at riding in the arena as his steering could use some work but on the trail he would do great.
He has a soft mouth and we just used a basic snaffle bit with him.
He accepts the bridle and saddle perfectly and stands well to be mounted.
He loves baths and grazing and isn't spooked by sprays
