Quinny
16 Yrs Old
Standardbred Gelding
Quinny is one of the most gentle souls.
He was saved from the kill pen and came to Rowley Rescue Ranch via our Shelter Transfer Program with Equine Collective.
Originally starved and his feet in terrible condition, Quinny has been beautifully rehabbed and is ready for his forever home.
Leads and stands perfectly, lets us brush, groom, bath him, handle his feet and he just stands patiently
He has a wonderful temperament on the ground and under saddle
Under saddle he will walk all day long with a beautiful steady paced "trail walk"
He goes on the buckle and can be ridden Western, English, Bareback, and Bitless.
He takes some encouragement to get into a canter, but is much more forward outside the arena.
He has the higher standardbred headset and when you ask him to move out he will and really floats around.
He would be suitable for a beginner rider on up and takes care of his person.
He has been ridden by kids and loves to be around them.
He does need to gain some muscle on his top line and backend, so for now would do best with a child or petite adult rider.
He is friendly to dogs, has no vices, and loves his carrots and mints.
We think he would love to be a trail horse or a pleasure horse.
He wants to be your steady eddy that you could put your child on and will follow you down the trail.
He is not on any supplements or medication and does well on a forage based diet.
He does have low soles and deep central sulci, so does best with soft footing, boots on rocky trails, or shoes.
Can be out in a pasture with geldings or mares or can be stalled comfortably with turnout.
Loaded in the trailer perfectly, without hesitation for us.
He is ready for his new home and is up to date on wormer, vaccinations, coggins, and farrier.
Adoption fee: $2,500
Located in Nixa, MO and taking applications now!
Backed by Rowley Rescue Ranch's reputation of honesty and transparency.
Safety and suitability are of the utmost importance in placing these horses.
