Belgian Gelding
Roman is the epitome of a Gentle Giant and the sweetest big boy!
If you are looking for a horse that you know will never take off with you, Roman is your guy.
We were luckily able to intercept this sweet gelding before he entered the auction pipeline
He was an Amish work horse in his previous life and used for driving
He is everything everyone looks for in a Belgian Draft
He is calm, quiet more whoa than go, and beginner friendly
He is easy to catch in the field and is great to give vaccines and wormer to
He is a gentle leader in the field and while the top of the pack he is not in any way aggressive
He lives currently with geldings and mares, 2 mini horses, and a foal
He is an easy keeper and does well on unlimited grass hay and 5 lbs of grain per day
He does not need to be blanketed in the winter
He is not on any supplements or maintenance.
When he arrived to us he was shod all around with road studs
We have been working with our barefoot trimmer and he has successfully been transitioned to barefoot
He is good about picking up his feet to clean but does best with consistent work on hoof handling with positive reinforcement techniques
He responds very well to treat training and he is also familiar with being trimmed in shoeing stocks.
He is great at loading in the trailer and fits in two regular horse compartments.
He is not herd bound and lunges well in a halter. He is soft and gentle on the line and goes great in a basic snaffle.
He stands to be groomed and doesn't move when you spray him with sprays
He is good with needles and is easy to worm
He is great around dogs and isn't phased by them at all
He is very good to bridle and does not raise his head or resist
He will stand tied and does not pull back and can also stand in cross ties no problem. He will wait patiently for you all day.
He is not spooky in the slightest and beginner friendly
Can be ridden bareback, English or Western. Anyone could ride this boy.
Given his big size and frame, he does best outside of an arena.
He is a fantastic trail horse and pleasure horse, and would make a great therapy horse or third field fox hunter and he is broke to drive a cart
He is up to date on wormer, teeth floating, sheath cleaning, farrier, and vaccinations.
Adoption Fee: $5,000
Backed by Rowley Ranch's reputation of honesty and transparency.
Safety and suitability are of the utmost importance in placing these horses.
