Registered Quarter Horse Mare
Ruby is one of those rare been there and done it all kind of mares everyone is looking for these days!
Miss Ruby was surrendered to our rescue with Zippy and three other mares when sadly her owner passed away.
She can be ridden English, Western, is a perfect trail horse, has been fox hunting, you name it.
She stands well and lets you groom, brush and bath her without moving
She loads in the trailer perfectly and is always ready to head out on the trail
Don't let her age fool you, she will happily go on 10 mile trail rides any weekend you are ready.
Does well out in the pasture with geldings and mares 24/7 or can be stalled and does not have any vices
She is Advanced beginner friendly and anyone could ride her on the trails.
She has extensive training as a cutting horse and is great around cows.
She has also been trained in reining and knows how to one hand neck rein, slide from a whoa, spin, and lope from a walk.
She is a super fun mare to ride and just makes you smile and goes easily in a basic snaffle.
You just have to think the direction you want to go and she will go there.
When you lower your hand she will stop and stand there as long as you ask her to.
Stands well to be mounted and does not move off until you are ready to do so.
On the trail she will go over, through, around, anything you point her at.
She is great around dogs and while she does like to herd them in the field, she has never kicked out at them.
She does not kick and is great at going nose to tail on a trail ride.
Has no dental issues, but does have short front teeth. She is able to maintain a good weight on grass hay and grain
We blanketed her this winter and She does not require any supplements.
She is not spooky at all and at most will stop and stare at something and then continue on with minimal encouragement.
She recently had x-rays on her front feet and has some changes to her navicular bones.
We have treated her with Osphos and she does require front shoes to stay elevated off of the ground.
Our vet recommended she go to a trial riding home where she is ridden more in straight lines and less in an arena in small circles.
She is the same horse no matter which day you pull her out or how long you have left her in the field.
She is up to date on wormer, coggins, teeth floating, vaccinations, and barefoot trims.
Rehoming fee: $1,500
AQHA Registration papers will be provided to new owners
