JC: Shiny Star
14 Yrs Old
Kentucky Bred OTTB Mare
16.2 hh
Great Granddaughter of the Seattle Slew!
She is what we call a War Horse as she raced 58 times and retired sound.
They say if a horse can withstand that much racing, then they are very solid
She has a gorgeous long fluffy tail
She is also a very sweet, easy-going girl.
She is very willing, calm, sensible, and could go in many directions training-wise.
She is out 24/7 in the pasture right now with mares and geldings
She is an easy keeper on grain and hay
She is currently barefoot and has always been sound since she came off the track.
She loaded up perfectly in the trailer when we brought her over here and ties very well.
She is great with handling and grooming and is not mare-ish at all
We have kept her blanketed this last week and she had no problems and seemed to appreciate that
She is learning to lunge (OTTB's aren't lunged previously) and did great with her first try.
She has not been restarted under saddle yet and is for adoption for someone to re-start their way.
Adoption fee: $1,500
