JC: Starfall
19 Yrs Old
Louisiana Bred OTTB Mare
16.1 hh
This sweet mare used to be a broodmare and was race trained but never raced
Really unusual roan coloring for a Thoroughbred
She has a wonderful temperament.
Beginner friendly on the buckle ride
One of the most kind hearted mares we have been around
Absolutely Anyone could ride this mare.
We have had absolute beginners, to kids, to more experienced riders on her.
Zero spook and three easy gaits. She is more of a kick ride but gets going once asked.
Never needs to be lunged. She can be ridden Western or English.
She can be ridden in groups or alone and isn't phased by either.
Would be a wonderful mount for a beginner on up wanting a beautiful pleasure riding horse.
Has jumped up to 2' at a hunter/jumper barn but would need joint maintenance to continue jumping consistently or higher.
Has been ridden on trails, in an indoor and outdoor arena and nothing phases her.
We are working on standing at the mounting block but she is perfect if someone holds her.
We would love to find her an easy going home where she could be a pleasure. trail, or kids horse.
She is the same mare no matter which day you take her out of the field and doesn't have a mean bone in her body.
She sometimes hesitates when loading in the trailer but will go in after about 5 mins after she's given it a sniff.
She does sometimes pull back so we recommend never straight tying her to anything solid.
We use blocker tie rings or a piece of bailing twine.
Lives out with geldings, mares, and ponies 24/7 on grass pasture and is in the middle of the pack pecking order.
Has also been stalled and does well with both.
She is a harder keeper so would require supplementation with Alfalfa if on pasture.
She is currently on an all forage diet.
She stands perfectly for grooming and bathing and loves to be pampered.
She is great around dogs and small children and has never even offered to kick or do anything naughty.
She has a silent heat and you cannot tell when she is in heat.
She does benefit from front shoes or hoof boots on rocky ground as she has flatter hooves.
Uncomplicated and is up to date on wormer, teeth, coggins, vaccinations, and farrier care.
Adoption fee: $2,500
