Sweet Pea
10 Yrs Old
Thoroughbred Mare
16 hh
Sweet Pea is as sweet as her name suggests and is an unraced Thoroughbred Mare
She was previously used as a broodmare but is not tattooed
She sadly had a very rough past and was neglected, starved, and had to be seized from her previous owners.
When she arrived she carried a lot of anxiety.
We have been doing a lot of flexing and bending for relaxation and she’s coming a long way.
She lunges wonderfully and is gentle on the lunge line
She would make a fantastic trail horse as outside the arena is where she is happiest.
We think she would go all day long on the trails and would love it.
She does better if she is handled consistently and does better mentally if she has a job.
She is not spooky at all and does well with dogs and other horses.
Lives out on pasture with geldings, mares, and ponies 24/7 and is easy to catch.
She is an easy keeper and maintains a great weight.
When she arrived she would get a little anxious about hoof handling and would kick with her hind feet.
We have been using positive reinforcement techniques to train her and she has made a complete transformation.
She used to need to be sedated to be trimmed but with a calm and patient farrier she will now stand to be trimmed without sedation.
When she was previously abused she was hit while being tied up at the tie rail.
Consequently she does best for trims if you hold her in hand.
She has a wonderful chunky confirmation.
She is looking for her person who will give her the time she needs to flourish.
She has so much to offer and we think she will be a phenomenal horse for someone and your true best friend.
She is up to date on wormer, floating, Coggins, vaccinations, and farrier.
She is not on any supplements or medication.
We would recommend Farriers Formula for her as her hooves crack easily due to years of neglect and poor nutrition.
I just know when this lovely girl finds her person she will flourish and they will have an amazing bond!
Rehoming fee: $1,500
