Tess
12 Yrs Old
15.2 hh
Draft Cross Mare
1/2 Arabian, 1/4 Paint, 1/4 Percheron
Tess is such a gorgeous big stout girl who has been there and done it all!
She is the true definition of an All-Rounder.
Unlike most of the horses we get through our program, we know quite a bit about Tess' history.
Her previous owners were a wonderful family with a young girl who rode her extensively
They did play days, pleasure riding, speed events, many shows, and general arena ranch riding
She also has an extensive history of being a trail horse and that is where she is happiest.
She is a rock-solid mare who you can point and go anywhere on the trail and she will take you there
She does best with more consistent rides if ridden in an arena as she can tend to get lazy
She prefers the slower pace in life and is more whoa than go, but will go all day long on the trail.
She will stand tied happily no matter how long you leave her there, so you can easily do overnights with her.
She is built like a brick house so anyone could ride her but she is not spooky at all
She stands well to be mounted and she would be suitable for a beginner on up.
She is safe around cars, loud noises, and is not herd bound at all
She quite happy to go out alone or with a group
She would make a fantastic Fox Hunting mount as she is not afraid of dogs and has never tried to kick at one
She previously had a foal but we do not recommend her for a broodmare home as she had a retained placenta.
She will be re-homed with a non-breeding clause due to it being too dangerous for her to be bred again.
She will stand in cross ties and straight tied and is great for grooming, bathing, and tacking
She is good for the farrier and is not on any supplements or medication
She has no known history of injury or lameness
She can be ridden Western or English and goes well in a basic snaffle or a bitless bridle
She lunges well and is soft on the lunge line, but you rarely would need to lunge her
She can be stalled and has no stable vices
She currently lives out on pasture with geldings, mares, and ponies 24/7 and is easy to catch if you use a treat.
She is an easy keeper and maintains a great weight on just a forage-based diet.
She is up to date on wormer, Coggins, vaccinations, and farrier.
If you are looking for a been there done it kind of horse then Tess is your girl.
She is looking for that special person to enjoy the outdoors with and she in turn will be that steady mount you can trust and rely on.
Rehoming fee: $4,500
