He was previously rescued from a situation where he was neglected, malnourished, and covered in rain rot
He has made a fantastic recovery and is now ready for his forever home.
He is calm and quiet and beginner friendly
He has a teddy bear personality and is so cuddly and soft
He loads perfectly in the trailer, ties, and stands and waits patiently
He is great for grooming and tacking and bathing and is fine to be sprayed with sprays
He is easy to catch in the field and is great to give vaccines and wormer to
He has no issues with picking up his feet and doesn't need stocks for farrier care
He is a true gentleman when it comes to hoof handling which is a rare blessing with drafts.
He moves out well and light and floaty on his front feet
He has no history of lameness, soundness, or any medical issues.
He does great out 24/7 with geldings and mares and is an easy keeper and easy to catch
He can also be kept in a stall and has no stable vices
To ride, Wilbur is a joy and while more whoa than go, he will get up and move out for you with a little encouragement
He will walk trot and canter in the arena and is also a wonderful trail riding mount.
He would be perfect for a beginner on up and any level of rider.
He can be ridden English or Western
He even jumps over cross rails!
He is not a spooky horse and is great around dogs, cars, and cows
He has clean legs and requires no supplements or maintenance.
He has great feet and is barefoot and we do not see a need for him to ever need shoes
He is not herd bound and lunges well in a halter. He is soft and gentle on the line.
He has a soft mouth and is light to your hand aids
He is easy to bridle and does not raise his head or protest in any way
He would make a fantastic trail horse, therapy horse, fox hunter, pleasure horse, you name it!
